What will happen during the study?
During this study, the research team will ask you to complete online questionnaires and interviews. The interviews can occur by phone or in-person in the laboratory on the University of Iowa's campus. In addition, we will ask if you would like to complete an optional non-invasive brain scan in the laboratory. Information from your medical records will be linked to the questionnaire, interview, and brain scan data.
You will be compensated for each part of the study (questionnaire, interview, brain scan) that you choose to complete.
fNIRS
This is a DEN Lab research assistant and a child completing an fNIRS scan together!

Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) is the brain scan that will be used in this study. fNIRS is an optical brain monitoring technique, and the light is safer than walking around outside on a sunny day. The fNIRS scan helps us to measure activity in your brain.

Compensation
Compensation will come in the form of Tango gift cards.
For each online questionnaire, you will be compensated $20.
For each interview, you will be compensated $25.
For each optional fNIRS scan, you will be compensated $25, which includes funds to cover parking expenses. For the fNIRS scans that include both mother and infant, compensation is $50.
In total, if you complete all study assessments at all time points, you will be compensated $420 in Tango gift cards.
